The initial goal of this project was to develop a system which could recognize faces in still images. The scope was further extended to the development of advance level application (Attendance System). We developed a web based class attendance system using one shot for identication while learning on few/single shot. Additional features include phone based imaging with real-time detection, live server camera streaming and identication, email support for the attendance, time based logging for video ID, multi-mode enrollment support as well as active model improvement which makes this app more of a multi-purpose product. As class attendance is an essential, laborious and time-consuming task in any academic setting, so the goal of this project was to address this issue and automate the attendance marking process while saving time and resources. The eventual aim was to produce a utility that could be run by a user without technical knowledge of the mechanics behind it. The additional challenge was to do it using a crowd shot rather than individual pictures where the later would have defeated the purpose, considering time aspect. One such example of the running of our system is shown above.
